Way Back Wednesday Game Night @ Carolina Ale House (Chapel Hill)
February 22 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
If you’re a Chapel Hill local and are looking for something fun, low key (and cheap) to do on a Wednesday Night then you should come out and join us! Not only do we bring 75+ Board Game and our Giant Games to this event (Giant Jenga/Connect4) but we also set up Rockband on a 10′ Projection screen, play wii games on a 100″ projection screen and play a vintage Nintendo NES all night. It’s truly a game extravaganza!
Frequently Asked Questions
How Does This Event Work?
You will arrive to the event and check-in with Donald, your Game Night host (look for the guy wearing the black TriangleGameNight.com shirt). If you can, please make a $1 donation to our board game fund, as that helps us to add more games to the collection every month! After you have checked in, you are welcome to browse the Board Game Collection aka “The Library” and grab a game to play, otherwise walk around and join a game in progress if there’s room. Once you finish playing a game, please return it to the collection then feel free to grab another!
Can I Come Alone? Yes! Absolutely! This event is perfect for people who are new in town, recently single or just want to get out of the house and have some fun! When you arrive, just look for Donald, your host, who will be wearing a black TriangleGameNight.com shirt.
Can I Bring a Date? Yes, this makes for a great, low-key (and super affordable) date night. Grab a drink and board game and play all night.
Is This Event Really Free? Yes, it really is! That being said, we do ask for a donation to our board game fund if you can spare it and to purchase something from our awesome hosts!
Do They Serve Food and Drinks? Yes, of course! The drink specials for the evening are that all draft beers are $3 – and the food menu can be found here.
What is your current Game of the Month? Our current featured Game of the Month is LOVE LETTER which is provided by our Game Night sponsor, Family Legacy Financial Solutions
It’s February so, OF COURSE, our Game of the Month is Love Letter.
It’s a classic 20 minute game that plays 2-4 players. There are only 16 cards in the entire game so it’s easy to learn and teach. With simple mechanics and 9 different editions, (ranging in theme from Munchkin to Batman) this game is the perfect way to introduce friends and coworkers to gaming. We’ll be giving away a copy of the original Love Letter, but your host Dara is always excited to teach her favorite version: Adventure Time Love Letter, as well.
“Love Letter is a game you’ll play now, tomorrow, and years to come. It isn’t just a summer fling. It’s a lifelong romance.” – Board and Savior
